The conference on “Digitized Mass Communication and Responsibility: Politics, Economics, and Ethics of Platforms” organized by the Communication and Media Ethics group took place on February 16-17, 2023, at FH St. Pölten, Austria, with approximately 50 participants. Co-hosted by the Network Media Ethics, zem:dg, Academy for Political Education Tutzing, and IMEC (Interdisciplinary Media Ethics Centre), the event explored the evolving ethics of digital platforms across disciplines such as political science, law, economics, philosophy, sociology, and communication studies. Key findings emphasized the need for a multidisciplinary approach, considering technological advancements like artificial intelligence and societal shifts such as the digital divide and increased social media usage.
